How to use Test Equipment

  1. Navigate to a customer with a compatible system and who has allowed you to perform remote changes to their system through the ecobee mobile application

  2. Navigate to the thermostat product page and click "Test Equipment"

  3. When the Connected Portal is able to connect to the system, the available equipment to test loads with their corresponding stages

  4. Select the equipment and a stage to begin the test

  5. When you are complete with the test, click "Cancel Stage Test" to be able to switch the next equipment and stage you would like to perform.

Advisory Notes

  • Please be advised that the Test Equipment features should only be run by qualified HVAC contractors

  • Once a test is triggered, the homeowner will have the option to cancel the test on their thermostat

  • The compressor protection feature is not available during these tests

  • Tests are designed to be limited to 20 minutes as a safety measure and will automatically end if not specifically stopped through Connected Portal, Service Tech App, or by the homeowner
